I first blogged this topic in 2013 and still believe today that we remain in a new and ever-changing age of photography.<\/p>\n
With the continual evolution of both stand-alone digital cameras and new models of smartphones coming out for the holidays, by gosh, there doesn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t seem to be an end in sight of this technological revolution!<\/p>\n
The number of photos that you and I take in a year has gone through the roof. \u00c2\u00a0In fact, in a recent study by The Conversation<\/em>, it was claimed that as many as I TRILLION photos were taken in 2018.<\/p>\n Here are couple of other interesting facts.<\/p>\n So, the answer to my question, is “Yes”. \u00c2\u00a0Photos are still necessary as “currency”. \u00c2\u00a0For you wanting to use photos in your business to attract customers then that photo must be special. \u00c2\u00a0Picture this in your mind. \u00c2\u00a0A photo with two small dogs. \u00c2\u00a0Wearing funny hats and dark sunglasses. \u00c2\u00a0I would offer up to you that this photo\u00c2\u00a0has more than a \u00c2\u00a0bark! This photo generates emotions and questions.<\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t they cute!\u00e2\u20ac<\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Where\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the red carpet?\u00e2\u20ac<\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153How\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d they get them to sit still?\u00e2\u20ac<\/p>\n \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Are those prescription specs?\u00e2\u20ac<\/p>\n This photo of these trendy dogs begs viewers to want to know more.<\/p>\n Animals with Style!<\/p><\/div>\n In the public relations and marketing world having photos that communicate like this one are key to the success of your business, nonprofit or special event.<\/p>\n What makes a great photo; in a nutshell a great photo is one that helps tell your message. \u00c2\u00a0Here are several factors that I always remembered when selecting photos for clients:<\/p>\n Wow factor!<\/strong>\u00c2\u00a0There is so much competition for your personal attention. Again, Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest. If we are to be successful and capture your time and attention, then we need to show an image that has that \u00e2\u20ac\u0153wow\u00e2\u20ac factor. Immediate reaction\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6positive or negative, depending on your objective\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6is what you need to look for.<\/p>\n BRIGHT is right.<\/strong>\u00c2\u00a0The image needs to be visible. By that I mean a photo that expresses an emotion, view or drives you to action. A lot of vivid colors work for me and drive me to action.<\/p>\n Mystery with a +.\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong>The image should leave you wanting more. This photo does that for me.
