Perini, ABC<br \/>\nperini &amp; associates<\/p>\n<p>Many businesses are consumed by spending a lot of their time on external marketing components of their branding, i.e., news releases, social media, paid advertising, brochures, flyers, sponsorships, etc., and not nearly as much emphasis on the employees, staff, and\/or volunteers within their business.<\/p>\n<p>In my view, I agree with Suzanne Tulien, co-author of &#8220;Brand DNA,&#8221; that a critical component of building a brand is taking care of what&#8217;s going on inside the business initially. \u00a0A significant factor of this approach is getting peak performance from employees, staff, and\/or volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>Companies with engaging employees improve their operating income by 19 percent compared to organizations with lower employee engagement. \u00a0Also, research indicates that high levels of employee loyalty have been linked to an estimated 11 percent boost in productivity.<\/p>\n<p>Here are several excellent ideas, sourced from Paychek&#8217;s Whitepaper, that I have successfully used.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #45555f; font-family: Tahoma, Helvetica;\">Clear Communication-why you should clearly state expectations and Performance Standards<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #45555f; font-family: Tahoma, Helvetica;\">Regular Feedback-why positive and Constructive Criticism is necessary<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #45555f; font-family: Tahoma, Helvetica;\">Diligent Supervision-determine what employees should have more direction<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #45555f; font-family: Tahoma, Helvetica;\">Training: learn the importance of job training<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #45555f; font-family: Tahoma, Helvetica;\">Organized Checklists \u2013how checklists can set priorities and keep employees on track<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Michael B.
